Neuromancer
Splice director Vincenzo Natali's planned adaption of William Gibson's cyberpunk classic is apparently still moving along, and now we might be on the verge of some major news. Mark Wahlberg and Liam Neeson have reportedly been offered two of the most important roles in the film, with Wahlberg playing the anti-hero computer cowboy Case and Neeson taking on the part of the former Green Beret Armitage. The latter part was originally linked to Bruce Willis. There's no way of knowing how serious these offers really are, although Wahlberg at least has a connection with the film's producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, with whom he worked on Shooter and Four Brothers. Natali will reportedly begin production on Neuromancer once he finishes up his current project Haunter, which should mean this movie could be ready for as soon as 2014. [Moviehole]
Total Recall
Here's the latest TV spot. [Coming Soon]
Dredd 2
Star Karl Urban discusses why he's OK with there not being a sequel because this first movie is so good — a point we're actually kind of willing to back him up on — and then explains where he would want a hypothetical sequel to go:
I just think there's so much fertile ground to explore within the character and within the world. And I would love to see the continuing story and the evolution of these characters and the relationship between Anderson and Dredd. And it would be interesting to find out more about the world, more about Dredd. It would be really cool to see the Dark Judges. There's so much. And it would be great to – we've seen one aspect, one sector of Mega-City One. It would be great to see other aspects.
He also said "definitively no" when asked if he ever regretted having to keep his helmet on for the entire movie, which is just one more reason why Karl Urban gets it, people. [411mania]
Cloud Atlas
Here's a poster to accompany last week's epic, totally awesome six-minute trailer.
Skyfall
Here's a TV spot for Daniel Craig's third outing as James Bond, although unfortunately we don't get any glimpses of new costars Javier Bardem or Ralph Fiennes. [/Film]
Frankenweenie
The 10 O'Clock People
Continuum and G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra star Rachel Nichols has reportedly joined Live Free or Die Hard's Justin Long in the cast of this Stephen King adaptation, in which a man trying to kick a smoking habit suddenly comprehends the terrifying true nature of the world. Nichols is another person who sees the world for what it really is. [Heat Vision]
Breaking Dawn: Part 2
666 Park Avenue
Here's a new poster for ABC's upcoming show about a supernatural apartment building owned by Lost's own John Locke, Terry O'Quinn. [SpoilerTV]
Executive producer David Wilcox dropped some hints about what to expect from the show:
"The [666] building is like the Overlook Hotel from The Shining. It has a presence, it has a spirit that seems to be working hand in hand with Gavin [O'Quinn]. But it also might be more powerful than anybody knows. That was the juice we were looking at and trying to pull that into this show...It's more a psychological horror. This show has the soap and seduction that other ABC shows possess...which isn't to say there aren't shocking visceral moments in the show...[Why the tenants don't just leave is] something we deal with fairly early on. I'm reluctant to give away too much but that's part of Gavin's plan as well. When [the building's new tenants] sign that lease at end of the pilot, it may be more than just a lease and leaving might be more difficult than they thought."

Supernatural
Futurama voice actress Lauren Tom has reportedly been cast in a potentially recurring role as an "intense", "overbearing" mother to an as yet unknown character. Given Tom's background, this might sound like a comic relief role, but reportedly her introduction will be dramatic. Even so, I'm just going to naturally assume that Tom playing an intense, overbearing mother means this will be the live-action equivalent of Inez Wong — though, uh, it's probably for the best if Supernatural doesn't also bring on Billy West to play the live-action version of Leo Wong. Road Trip's DJ Qualls has confirmed that he will be back in season eight as his recurring guest star, the (intentionally) rather irritating hunter Garth Fitzgerald IV. [Pop Culture Zoo]
American Horror Story
Run Lola Run and The Bourne Identity star Franka Potente will reportedly play a patient at the mental institution for two episodes of the show's upcoming second season. [TV Line]
Here's a casting notice for two costarring roles in the third episode:
Devon and Cooper, who are both about 20 years old, very tall, thin and psychopathic.
Honestly, I think we should just assume all characters on American Horror Story until explicitly told otherwise. And possibly not even then. [SpoilerTV]
