Pacific Rim

Assuming the movie passes the fairly low $50 million bar supposedly needed to get a sequel — and we're pretty hopeful that this will happen — director Alex Garland explains just how he would approach a second film:

"If I was involved in a second movie, it would be about origins and subversion, and Chopper would feature. In fact, I think Chopper would start and end the story. Apart from him, my rough plan involves Fargo, Giant, Angel Gang, and a version of Satanus. For a trilogy, add Cal and the Dark Judges. And Anderson would be in all three. But… just to be clear, this is hugely speculative and also unlikely, for any number of reasons… There are some variables which would rule me out [of any sequel] immediately.

"I think I'd try to make [the Dark Judges] really scary. Not play them for laughs. Just make them totally malevolent and lethal. And use practical effects where possible, except for Fire, which would be an on-set nightmare. The existential side to the Dark Judges is that they don't see a point to life. If my film-trilogy daydream was to play out, I would completely rewrite my original script for the Dark Judges – because it was junk – and start again. If there is a sequel, I'm imagining spending about half the movie in the Cursed Earth, and I would try to come up with some new faces as well as some old ones… I quite like the idea of Satanus. But much more mutated."

Kick-Ass 2

Claudia Lee, who plays Magnolia Breeland on The CW's Hart of Dixie — because "Magnolia Breeland" is pretty much the most CW character name imaginable — has reportedly joined the cast of the Kick-Ass sequel in an unknown role. [Deadline]

Wolves

Now that Game of Thrones and Conan star Jason Momoa has signed on to play a badass werewolf patriarch alongside X-Men: First Class's Lucas Till, it's high time we get an official synopsis. Why yes, this will all do quite nicely, thank you:

Cayden Richards, 18, has it all: Captain of the high school football team, straight-A student, gorgeous girlfriend. But when he wakes one dark night to find his parents brutally murdered, he is horrified to realize that he is turning into an animal: a wild, savage wolf. Panicked, Cayden runs, determined to find out what is happening to him. His quest leads him to the strange, isolated town of Lupine Ridge, where two clans of wolves are on the brink of war.

The opposing clans are lead by Connor, the powerful, pure-blood alpha of a savage pack and John Tollerman, an old farmer, committed to protecting the human citizens of Lupine Ridge. But when Cayden falls for Angelina, the beautiful, young mate promised to Connor, a battle to the death is inevitable. And as the past begins to reveal itself, Cayden's place in the world becomes clearer — As does his power to put an end to the savage violence building up around, and within him...

Ninja Turtles

Here, in its entirety, is a post on Michael Bay's official site responding to that recently leaked Ninja Turtles script:

The leaked script for Ninja Turtles that different sites continue to comment on was written well before I, or anyone at Platinum Dunes, was involved with the project.

That script saw the shredder a long time ago.

This is tired, old news — Wait for the movie!

-Michael

Even allowing for the exclamation mark and the possible sorta pun about "Shredder", that post is easily the most restrained, understated thing Michael Bay has ever been a part of. [Michael Bay]

Hotel Transylvania

Here's the first clip from Adam Sandler and friends' computer-animated horror comedy, which if absolutely nothing else is being directed by Samurai Jack mastermind Genndy Tartakovsky. [Coming Soon]

Check out the latest Pacific Rim photos! Plus what might happen in a Judge Dredd sequel? And, because I know your life wouldn't be complete without seeing this, here's a promo image of Murray the Mummy, who of course is voiced by Cee-Lo Green.

Doctor Who

Matt Smith offered this hint about the Doctor's state of mind in tomorrow's series opener, "Asylum of the Daleks":

You do feel that sense of the great enemy, and he completely loathes them. The Doctor doesn't hate much, but he hates the Daleks, and it's possibly one of his great weaknesses, but I think they're one of the only alien enemies that he purely despises.

Fringe

Here's Fox's fall preview trailer, which includes some looks at Fringe's fifth and final season. [Fringe Television]

Person of Interest

Here's an extended promo for the second season.

Once Upon a Time

Here's a pair of trailers for season two.

Grimm

Try not to get too freaked out by this, but here's a promo for season two that actually looks kind of like an actual promo, with images of the cast and everything, starting with an as ever smug-looking Adam Levine.

Haven

Smallville and V actress Laura Vandervoort will reportedly appear in the final two episodes of the upcoming, thirteen-episode third season, in which she will play "a highly intelligent and beautiful woman who has returned to Haven for the latest cycle of Trouble, [and] her visit isn't a peaceful one; rather, she is driven to the brink of madness by the loss of a loved one." [TV Line]

Beauty and the Beast

True Blood werewolf Kelly Overton will reportedly appear on an episode of The CW's upcoming Beauty and the Beast update. She will play Claire, described as "an intelligent and extremely athletic doctoral student who hits it off with medical examiner Evan (Max Brown) after they meet online." It's not clear if this is in the same episode, but another guest character will be " a med student named Michael whose fiancé has gone missing", to be played by relative unknown Jeremy Glazer.
