X-Men: Days of Future Past
Mark Millar, who is now the creative consultant for all of 20th Century Fox's Marvel movies, discusses director Matthew Vaughn's approach to the X-Men: First Class followup. Basically, it's going to be totally bonkers, in the best of ways:
"Vaughn is going for a big sci-fi style thing with X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's X-Men meets The Terminator. You've got robots, you've got time travel, you've got superheroes - it's got everything in one film. Cost-wise it's going to go up, and ambitious-wise it's gone up. But Vaughn can handle it. Vaughn made Kick-Ass for $28 million."

Mad Max: Fury Road
In what has to be the least surprising news ever, George Miller's fourth entry in his Mad Max franchise — which already was delayed for years and had to move to Namibia due to various economic and environmental catastrophes — is reportedly at least five days behind schedule and over budget. As such, Warner Bros. is reportedly sending producer Denise di Novi to supervise the film, which stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. While many are seeing this as evidence that the movie is in trouble, I'm honestly quite pleasantly surprised that Miller is only about a week behind schedule, and that the movie simply over budget rather than "significantly" or "colossally" so. By the standards of a George Miller Mad Max movie, I'd say this is actually pretty damn good. [Heat Vision]
Amazing Spider-Man 2
We reported a while back that Shailene Woodley was in line to play Mary Jane Watson in the sequel, and now it seems more official. There's also some indications, though, that she'll have a pretty small role in the second movie of the trilogy — and then she'll have a much bigger role in the third film, as the movies move towards the "Death of Gwen Stacy" story that we've all assumed they were going to do. The Walking Dead
Star Andrew Lincoln explains how Rick's confrontations with David Morrissey's Governor recall those he previously had with Shane:
The thing about Rick is that he will always lead to the weakest link, where Shane was not of that opinion. He said, "We keep the strong, cut away the weak." And that's one of Rick's enduring strengths and his humanity, but it's also his weakness. And then you meet the Governor. Shane's policy is where the Governor's at. It's what would have happened if Shane had been a leader a little bit further down the line.
Is there a possibility the group might be split between staying with Rick or joining the Governor?
That's not necessarily where we go initially. But certainly, that's in there. Who is better? I said to the writers that I'm really interested about what is Rick's breaking point? I think we find it this season.

Elsewhere, Norman Reedus discusses Daryl's reunion with his brother, Michael Rooker's Merle:
I think Daryl always wanted to find Merle and always found hints of Merle. Like he said, nobody can kill Merle but Merle. But so much other shit started to happen. It wasn't as thought I went to the producers and said, "Let's get this guy out of my mind." We just got overran by so many things. I think Daryl always wanted to find Merle, but he got overrun by other things. So now we know there's been a lot of talk about Merle coming back, and about us coming face-to-face in a fight. But when we took over this little town and found Merle was alive, I as a character wanted to just run out and fix things. But at the same time, [Daryl] had no idea what his involvement was with the rest of the cast. But he does sort of follow along under the thumb of Merle whenever he's around, almost reverts back to being a little kid again. That's sort of how the writers wrote him coming in.

Person of Interest
For all our loyal readers who are also members of SWAT teams — so a solid 95% of you, I'm guessing — the show is reportedly looking for "REAL SWAT" for filming tomorrow. However, the show will apparently provide uniforms, which to my thinking somewhat defeats the point of bringing in "REAL SWAT" in the first place. [SpoilerTV]
For those somewhat underwhelmed by the show's relative lack of in-your-face science fiction elements, creator Jonathan Nolan says not to worry:
This is a sci-fi show, absolutely, we just try to keep it as grounded as possible. The idea is to ease in to those ideas."
While the show is likely never going to get close to Fringe-level craziness, that would seem to portend an increased sci-fi presence as the show moves forward. Check out the link for some more little tidbits on the show. [Comic Book Resources]
Revolution
Here's a synopsis for the seventh episode, "The Children's Crusade", which is set to air November 5:
CHARLIE MUST CONVINCE MILES TO HELP A VILLAGE OF LOST CHILDREN - When Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) meets a boy who's suffered a plight similar to her own, she relates and longs to help him and his young friends. First, she must convince Miles (Billy Burke). Meanwhile, Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) grows weary of General Monroe (David Lyons) as she meets someone from her past.
Grimm
Here's a preview for this week's episode nine, "La Llorona."
Here's the official description for the tenth episode, "The Hour of Death", which airs November 2:
A SERIAL KILLER DESCENDS ON PORTLAND AND THE WESEN COMMUNITY IS IN GRAVE DANGER - When a brutal vigilante homicide is made public, it sends Portland's Wesen community into a frenzy. As Nick (David Giuntoli) investigates further, he discovers a pattern similar to that of a particularly brutal line of past Grimms. Is there another Grimm in town, or is Nick dealing with a sadistic copycat? Meanwhile, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) takes it upon himself to offer Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) comfort in handling her ongoing dilemma with Nick.
And here's the same for the following episode eleven, "To Protect and Serve Man", which airs November 9:
HANK'S KNOWLEDGE OF NICK'S WORLD HAS HIM SECOND GUESSING A PAST CASE - JASON GEDRICK AND LISA VIDAL GUEST STAR - Hank (Russell Hornsby) starts reflecting on an arrest he made earlier in his career regarding a man (guest star Jason Gedrick) who committed murder claiming "self-defense against monsters." With the man's death sentence rapidly approaching and the knowledge he's recently gathered from Nick (David Giuntoli), Hank begins to wonder if there was more truth to the man's seemingly absurd story then he once thought. Back at the spice shop, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) finds himself involved in a situation he never saw coming.

Here's a short description for the seventh episode, "Downward Spiral", which airs November 11:
Episode 1.07 - Downward Spiral
Henry's excitement about his rising political career is tempered by Jane's concerns about staying at The Drake; Brian learns that Alexis has been deceitful; Jane and Nona uncover a secret as they search for Lottie.
The show has received an order for an additional two scripts — which is rather less encouraging than an order for an additional two episodes, let alone an order for a full back nine. Basically, ABC is very much in wait-and-see mode with this show. [TV Line]

Defiance
Syfy has released some detailed character descriptions for the main cast of its upcoming post-apocalyptic western:
- Grant Bowler plays Nolan, a former Marine who fought in the alien conflict. After losing his wife and child in the war, he became a wanderer in the dangerous new world, eventually joined by Irisa (Stephanie Leonidas), a young Irathient he raises as his own and as his lone companion in the lawless badlands.
- Julie Benz portrays Amanda Rosewater, the idealistic mayor of the bustling mining boomtown of Defiance, one of the world's few oases of civility and inclusion. As the newly appointed mayor, she is determined to maintain peace in the community, an ambitious task in this deadly new world.
- Stephanie Leonidas plays Irisa, an exotically beautiful warrior who is part of an alien race called the Irathients. After Nolan (Bowler) killed her criminal father, he adopted the girl and raised her as his clever – and lethal – right-hand.
- Tony Curran portrays Datak Tarr, part of an elite alien race known as the Castithans. Datak grew up in the slums of his home planet, but despite being part of the under-privileged class, he schemed his way onto one of the alien arks, saving himself before his home planet was destroyed.
- Jaime Murray potrays Datak's beautiful and proper wife, Stahma, a high-ranking Castithan before her home planet ceased to exist. Clever, imaginative and darkly opportunistic, Stahma is perhaps more dangerous than her husband.
- Graham Greene is Rafe McCawley, a self-made success who owns and operates the largest mine in the territory. However, Rafe's status as the richest and most powerful human in the town of Defiance comes with a price, as he struggles to navigate both familial and political alliances in this precariously assembled new world.
- Mia Kirshner is Kenya, the self-assured, dauntless town madam whose unvarying devotion to the town of Defiance has inexorably woven her into many of its complicated affairs.

Teen Wolf
The third season premiere, entitled "Tattoo", will reportedly introduce a pair of Alpha werewolves, Ethan and Aiden, who will have recurring roles on the show thereafter. [SpoilerTV]
